Should Skipton have a Mcdonalds?
- You voted: Yes
by: Skiptonweb
ended: 17 September 2002
A current topic of hot debate, many Skipton shopkeepers don't want the presence of the American fast-food giant, McDonalds, on Skipton's doorstep. Proposals have been made to site the restaurant somewhere at the far end of Snaygill Industrial Estate. The people making the most noise about it appear to be the ones who don't want the 'big yellow sign' spoiling Skipton's traditional look. What do you think?

Is the property price bubble ready to burst?
- You voted: Yes
by: Skiptonweb
ended: 17 September 2002
With property prices skyrocketing with each passing month, is there anyone left to buy? Is there anyone prepared to buy? First time buyers will be finding it increasingly difficult to get on the ladder, and for people wanting to buy their second or third home, the speed at which houses are being ripped from the shelves can be frustrating, leading to 'panic buying'. A sure sign of the top, if ever I've seen one.

Should we charge for links out from SkiptonWeb?
- You voted: No
by: Skiptonweb
ended: 17 January 2003
The Internet age; suddenly, thousands of bright sparks have a great idea - "Let's build a directory and charge people to be on it!". How original. Skiptonweb don't charge anything for use of this site, and don't charge to list local businesses/organisations on it. Our income is from website development. Go on, remind us why we do this for free. Should we charge for listings on Skiptonweb?
Don't worry, we're not going to charge anything. We're just curious.

Should Skipton have a band stand?
- You voted: Yes, we should have one.
by: AL - Skipton Brass
ended: 15 October 2003
A band stand could be used for performances of all types of music, not just brass. I feel it would create a nice focal point within the town and provide all bands with somewhere to play outdoors and under cover.
